About chain letters

About ten years ago i read a hilarious rant by someone railing against email chains. I found it again today, and if you can stand some bad language and have a sense of humour, click here to read it (its the one at the top of the page, but the ones further down are equally funny).

  • As-Salaamu ‘alaikum,

Pretty funny, despite the language. Chain letters are just annoying. Can you believe that people have made up “Islamified” versions of the classic chain letter, as in “if you send this to five people, you’ll get serious thawaab, while if you don’t, Allah will curse you”? There was one sister who I spoke to about marriage for a while, then she suddenly disappeared and the only thing I got from her after that was chain letters. Plus, the annoying forwards of dubious miracle stories, dubious religious advice and downright corny stories and poems. Why is it that some Muslims can’t recognise utter nonsense when it stares them in the face?

  • My personal favourite pet-hate is the islamicised gush-worthy christian stories. Does anyone know which ones I mean (roll eyes)?

  • Yeah how annoying are those? The funny thing is that sometimes its actually quite intelligent (albeit non-techie) people who are forwarding on these miracle stories and “islamic” chain letters.

At one point i was tempted to forward this email to a person who sent me one, but you know how sensitive Muslims can be… :)

  • Some people are the same, whether Christian, Muslim or whatever.

  • Salam

    Lol…it was funny…crude lamguage…nevertheless it was funny.
There was another similar sarcastic chain letters rant…hmm…i will find it in my inbox…lol..and yes the Islamacised versions are much more annoying…snd it to so many peple and your dua’a will be accepted in 5 secs…
