Good news (i think)

I need someone to translate this legal-speak for me, but on a blog authored by Ali al-Timimi’s lead counsel it sounds like there was some good news today.

Judge Leonie M. Brinkema has issued an order after today’s interesting hearing. Here is the language, which is not under seal:For the reasons stated in open court, it is hereby ORDERED that the government’s Motion to Quash Defendant’s Request for Discovery is held in abeyance…

The rest is here

From what i understand it sounds as though the judge is ordering that various court officials & Ali’s lead defense counsel are given security clearance so that they can view classified documents which would prove (we hope) that the prosecution were not truthful when they claimed that Ali was not being wiretapped illegally and that they withheld other bits of evidence from the Judge which would have helped the Defense’s case.

Some more background to this case here.

Update: here is an AP article that reads a bit more easily
