I know this is quite late but there will be a hearing in the case of Sh. Ali al-Timimi today. This is quite an important hearing, so please, please make du’a for him.
On a related note, please be aware that Paypal have abruptly terminated the account that had been setup to collect donations for the Free Ali fund. The email they sent reads…
“Upon periodic review of your account, we have determined there to be excessive risk involved and PayPal has made the decision to sever its business relationship with you.
Our review of your account has determined that we will no longer be able to provide our services to you. Due to the risks associated with the types of transactions involved with your account, PayPal will no longer be able to process transactions on your behalf.”
Now this is very strange. Over the year or so that this account was open, there was no more than a few thousand dollars collected in it. On a regular basis, there were perhaps $30 coming in per month, so the explanation that this presents some sort of “excessive risk” doesn’t make any sense.
